Newcastle 'set to offer new contract to Matty Longstaff'

Newcastle United will offer a new contract to Matty Longstaff in the coming days but remain at an impasse over a deal for his brother Sean.
Matty Longstaff, 19, who made a big impression on his Premier League debut scoring the winner against Manchester United, is out of contract in the summer and has been in discussions with Newcastle over a prospective new five year deal.

However, it is understood talks have not been progressing as well with his more experienced brother Sean as Newcastle look to tie him down to a six year deal on improved terms.
The 21-year-old Sean is under contract until 2022 but Newcastle recognise his improvement merits reward particularly as he remains a big money transfer target for Manchester United.
The Old Trafford club initially baulked at Newcastle's £50million plus valuation in the summer yet retain interest in signing the composed playmaker though he has still to be capped at Under 21 level.
The elder of the two brothers was poised for a call up at the end of last season prior to picking up a knee ligament injury. He has returned to fitness well this season and England U21 coach Aidy Boothroyd is monitoring his progress, as well as the emergence of Matty.
The midfield pair are expected to retain their places in Newcastle's starting line up to face Chelsea this weekend.
Chelsea have fitness concerns over N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Andreas Christensen, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic.
